We explore how acknowledging and honoring our values is key, and we start crafting them through a visualization practice.
Regenerative Impact features weekly explorations about what it means to be an entrepreneur or leader who cares to make an impact and wants to do it while feeling good and not burning out in the process.
Our core values are key to understanding what matters to us and letting it guide our actions.
Living in alignment with them nurtures our well-being.
When we know our values, it becomes easier to make decisions and stand by them, define our priorities, and set healthy boundaries.
When we honor our values, we exercise agency, creating a positive impact on our happiness, stress levels, and overall mental health.
Furthermore, values are an essential component of our businesses, helping us attract the right people and creating for them a welcoming space where they can feel heard and seen and have the opportunity to meet like-minded people.
That's why working with values has always been and will be an integral practice of my coaching programs.
I was just working on the values module of my upcoming program when I thought, "Why don't we do some work on values in the newsletter?"
And I came up with the ideas for this series, in which I am gonna share my values, and you're gonna craft (or revise) yours.
care to impact Value #1
In each newsletter, starting from this one, I am gonna share the values I created for care to impact, my coaching practice. They're almost identical to my personal ones, but I've shaped them to create a sense of community around them. That's why I used the first plural person to describe them.
Here's the first one:
Care
We care deeply, and care is our strength, nourishment, and fire. We commit to caring for the earth and its inhabitants of every species, our communities, and ourselves to make the world more just and joyous for every being.
Craft Your Values - Exercise #1
Now, it's time for you to create or update your values, whether they are your personal guiding lights, your business pillars, or both.
I'll guide you through 5 exercises, one per week until you have defined your values and their relevance to you.
Let's start!
Step 1: Do a short guided visualization
Below is a prompt for your guided visualization. Read it before starting your mini-practice, and use the questions to help you elicit your imagination.
If you want to, set a 10-minute timer (with a soft alert sound!) and start your journey.
Find a quiet place and settle into a comfortable position.
Take 3 deep breaths, then start following the natural rhythm of your breath.
Soften your gaze.
In your mind, start imagining entering a beautiful, inviting, open space.
It's a place where you feel you can be yourself and are allowed and welcome to honor what truly matters to you.
What does this space look like?
What colors or textures are there?
What sounds?
What smells or tastes?
Is there someone with you? Who are they? Are they humans or other species?
What are they doing?
What are you doing?
What does really matter in this space?
How does this space make you feel?
Step 2: Journal
When you've finished exploring your space, come back and journal about what you just saw.
Consider the environment, what stood out to you, the physical sensations, the emotions, and whatever detail you want to note down.
Step 3: Make a list
Now, still reflecting and savoring your visualization, write a list of values that stem from it. For now, just use one word for each of them; we'll get to the description.
Try to keep it at a maximum of 3-7 values.
If you have more, see if they're overlapping or may be held under the same umbrella.
Don't worry if it feels unfinished. If something else comes to mind, you can keep adding to it. Then, you'll refine it in the upcoming weeks through the other exercises.
That's it for today! Next week, you'll look for breadcrumbs pointing to your values.
With care,
Giada

's Creative Courage Method.Ryn is a business friend and an engaged reader of this newsletter. Last week, they published their method for starting to let your inner Artist lead and crafting the courage to create the life and world you want, and I am in awe! It resonates so much with me and what I'm trying to create with my business. Let's give it some love, shall we?!
A new coaching program is coming!
Hello! I’m Giada (Jah-da, more or less), an Impact Coach who blends coaching and neuroscience, and I am about to launch my new coaching program to empower change agents to actualize their vision, make an impact, and cultivate joy while preventing burnout. Eager to learn more? Let’s have a chat!
Thanks for sharing my method and this exercise! I've been working on a post tentatively titled "What is Creative Courage anyway?" and I've been feeling stuck! I think writing it through the lens of community values will help me unearth what I've actually been trying to say.
